Ali Salman Zia

Editor-in-Chief

What do you cover at TheMacPost?

Anything with an Apple logo, but mostly the iPhone and iOS, plus the foldables everyone keeps promising will change phones forever. I also write a lot of our daily news, so if Apple pushed an update this morning, I've probably already installed it.

How do you report and test what you write about?

Source first, hot take second. I read Apple's own docs and release notes, talk to the developers who build on its platforms, and say clearly when a story comes from a leak. Anything I review lives in my pocket for a while before I write a word.

Why do you write about Apple and AI?

Because what Apple decides in Cupertino ends up in hundreds of millions of pockets, and now AI is rewriting what those phones can do. I've been at this since 2015, and it still hasn't gotten boring, so I started TheMacPost to cover both properly.

Ali Salman Zia is the Editor-in-Chief of TheMacPost, covering Apple, the iPhone and foldables. He spent a decade at Wccftech and has written for Android Police and Engadget.

He has an opinion about every iPhone Apple has ever made, and he will share it whether you ask or not. Off the clock he is gaming far later than he should be, or out with a camera, which is why he gets a little too picky about phone cameras.
