The glowing Apple logo is back with the latest OLED MacBook Pro models, and it’s giving all kinds of nostalgic vibes. Apple announced the new MacBook Pro with a “PROLED XDR Display” with some pretty major changes, and even though the general design language is the same, some changes are bigger than you realize.
Apple removed the illuminated logo from the MacBook Pro back in 2016 and replaced it with a polished, metal, non-glowing Apple logo. It was one of the most recognized and iconic branding touches Apple ever had, so much so that some iPhone case manufacturers also tried to replicate the same feature.

John Ternus has tweeted it himself, and combined with a touchscreen, the entire MacBook Pro package is pretty sweet. This time around, though, the display’s backlight does not illuminate the Apple logo, so Apple adopts a different approach, potentially with dedicated LEDs behind the logo to light it up.
The new model starts at $2,899 for the 14-inch version and $3,399 for the 16-inch MacBook Pro. How do you like the new design?
