When Siri AI launched earlier this year with iOS 27, tapping “Try Siri AI (Beta)” in Settings put you on a waitlist, and the wait could be anywhere from minutes to days.
In an updated support document, Apple has dropped the waitlist, which means that Siri AI now starts downloading as soon as you tap the button. That’s a pretty major change since users can opt in or out in a jiffy. But there’s a minor catch.
Apple may still use a waitlist during periods of high demand. Honestly, the waitlist never made much sense for a feature Apple spent all of WWDC hyping. It should have been like this since launch.
